The GP14 Class Association of Ireland Committee re-launched the GP14 League's for the 2007 Season. The re-launched SPEED SAILS LEAGUE 2007 were calculated from the six main events throughout the Season; Purcell, Leinsters, Ulsters, Championships of Ireland, Autumn Open, Hot Toddy.
The leagues were run with the following discard system in place; Gold Fleet Sailors; 1 Discard,Silver Fleet Sailors; 2 Discards, Bronze Fleet; 3 Discards. To view the SPEED SAILS LEAGUE TABLES 2007 Click on the link below; "SPEED SAILS LEAGUE 2007".
The ranking of the Fleet for the 2008 Season have been decided based on the SPEED SAILS LEAGUE TABLES 2007. Troy McNamara and Rob Lee after only one full Season in the Silver Fleet have already been escalated to the Gold Fleet.
David Lappin and Pat Savage ffrom Skerries took the honours in the Bronze Fleet and have been promoted to the Silver.
The Association Committee are delighted to announce that Richard Estaugh of Speed Sails UK, has once again very kindly offered to sponsor the Leagues for the 2008 Season. It is planned to run the Speed Sails League 2008 with the same format as per the 2007 Season.
